2. What is Therapy?
Therapy is a form of treatment that helps individuals improve their mental health and well-being. It involves talking to a trained professional who can provide support, guidance, and tools to help manage emotional and psychological issues. Therapy can be beneficial for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma
3. What Forms Of Payments Do We take
We Take All Forms of Payment, Cash, Debit, Visa Mastercard and E-transfer
4. How Long Is A Session and How Often Do I come?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long and are often scheduled weekly or bi-weekly, especially in the beginning. Most people have been struggling to deal with difficult situations by the time they come to therapy. Weekly sessions at the beginning will help to keep you accountable and motivated to work towards your goals in an efficient way. As therapy progresses, we can work together to determine if weekly sessions will continue to be useful. Some people will find that as they begin to heal and grow, fewer sessions are needed. The frequency of sessions can be adjusted in order to best meet your needs and maintain positive change.
5. Why Should I Speak To A Therapist and Not a Friend?
When it comes to mental health, it's important to seek professional help from a therapist rather than relying solely on a friend. While they can provide support and comfort, they may not have the training and expertise to address the complexities. Therapy can offer a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings, and evidence-based treatment to help you improve your mental health and well-being.
6. Does My Insurance Cover Therapy
As mental health becomes more and more of a priority, most workplace and private insurance providers will offer coverage for therapy.
Our team at Healing Centered Counselling includes registered psychotherapists and social workers who are all registered with their governing regulatory bodies . As such, we are covered under psychological services, psychotherapeutic services, and social work services in Ontario.
7. How Do I Prepare For My First Session?
Preparing for your first therapy session can be a little stressful, but it's important remember that your therapist is there to help you. Start by thinking about what you hope to gain from therapy and any specific concerns or issues you want to address. It's also helpful to jot down any questions you may have for your therapist. Remember to be open and honest during your session, and don't be afraid to ask for clarification or express any concerns you may have.
